Iconic Keep on the Borderlands image an homage to Sleeping Beauty?

I saw this on Tumblr. Am I nuts, or did Erol Otus do an homage to this in his Keep on the Borderlands back cover image?

It looks far more coincidental than homage. There'd be a lot more similarities if it were intentional. "A castle on a hill at sunset" is pretty generic.

I could see it going that direction. The sunset sky colors are almost exactly the same. Interesting.

There are lots of similar pics of Neuschwanstein (which inspired Disney). Some match the color better and others have angles that look more keep like.

Not at all. When you paint late sunset light reflecting on stone, those are the colour you use.

Not fake - it was a palace, not a fortress. And as a palace it was serving the needs of HM Ludwig II. Until he was deposed. It was intended to be a visual statement of power, not a fortified residence.
