Ideal 4e Campaign Setting

First Post
I think one of the coolest things done during the 3e era by WotC was the Setting Search that gave us Eberron. I hope that in a few years something similar will happen for 4e.

But I'm impatient and don't want to wait that long. :)

We've a new Dungeons & Dragons with its own idiosyncrisies and feel. So my question to you is, what would you do for an original campaign setting for 4e to make the most out of this specific edition of the game. What kind of setting best plays to its strengths. What kind of elements are a must to really make it sing.

Well, my personal take on the game has been from the start that these character classes make for excellent non-human classes, or professions.

To me none of the character classes feel human or seem human-like, but they make an excellent vehicle for non-human races and characters. Therefore in my game the non-human races use 4E classes, and the human ones use human character classes. So, I'll be suing my normal setting, which is actually two worlds, one ours, the human world, and the other filled with non-humans. the thing I like best about 4E is that it has finally produced races and their associated classes that are so radically different in design from anything I associate with human that they finally rurally seem like Elves, instead of just people with different skills, or people who can see in the dark. I use the 4E classes because they finally seem alien enough to not be people. Because to me an Elf wouldn't just be a pointy eared person, or a dwarf a short man, but they would be totally different from people, would have radically different abilities, "classes," ways of looking at the world, and methods of operating. To me the "alien-ness of 4E classes and races" is the best design aspect of the game. And the one I use in my setting.

Therefore if I had to develop an ideal setting it would be one that was non-human heavy, and humans would be radically different in "class structure and racial abilities" than the 4E classes that exist now, but I'd leave the 4E classes you have now for non-human characters.
