Ideas for Paladin's Mount

Just how big is the Dire version? A regular Yak is a pretty good sized beastie in it's own right.

I don't have the specifics knocked out yet, but I'm picturing a beast that's maybe 7 ft tall at the shoulder, about 11 ft long. Weighs about 1 ton. Since it's so tall, my dwarf will braid a "ladder" into it's long woolly coat so he can climb up and ride into battle

LOL...cool...although a small Dwarven Howdah might be in order.
