Ideas for the Warforged Outside Eberron

I wont mention how i might add them to my current homebrew, since one of the players reads these boards and might learn somethign she shouldn't.

However, I was just talking to that player today about her upcoming homebrew and the possibility of playing a warforged that was found in stasis in an ancient Wizard's lair. It was one of many body guards created by the wizard, this had been shut down for repair, fixed, but not yet reactivated when he was called away and subsequently killed. Its sort of a back up PC for me, or possibly a cohort for when the PCs reach 6th level.

It somewhat reminds me of Attack of the Clones, what with the powerful spellcasters being killed and a new artificial army being created to compensate for the loss. :D

Hmm, hadn't thought of that before.

Have you heard of my simulacrum wars?

This is what I am working on in my own homebrew. After a great plague killed off many of the Empire's troops, a group of clerics came up with a way to make small cheap golems to increase the army's numbers. But there was a problem with the creation process that showed up about 5 years after their creation. They would at a random time go through a transformation. About 50% when berserk and smashed everything around them. 25% just shutdown and the remaining 25% gained sentience and became the warforged as listed. Most people know about the berserk golems and worry that any warforged they see could be a time bomb, even though the PC warforged are now beyond that stage.

hehe, triple post!!!!!!

EDIT: if a moderator could remove this double and triple post, that would be nice. Thanks.

This idea is not from me (I did read it on some thread one or two weeks ago), but I find it excellent:

- Warforged are created by Dwarves.
- Warforged get the souls / spirits of dwarven ancestors, and remain as warriors in this state to pursue a sacred mission of protection.

So I would add to this, that as NPCs they would make the perfect dwarven mausoleums and cemetaries guardians. So they could act like terra-cotta warriors, but not only. However, even as PCs they would not go adventuring for the sheer thrill of it, but to complete an important quest.
