Ideas for Tome of Magic II

*isn't sure there needs to be an improvement to Scarred Lands' made Tattoo magic* But eh, if it draws in more people, that's fine.

A new rune magic system would be nice.

Tome of Magic II: Icon, Ink and Ichor -- Explore Rune Magic, Tattoo Magic and Blood Magic.

I'd buy that. :)

Cheers, -- N

Something on Blood Magic would indeed be nice. Scarred Lands did a little of that, but honestly I feel it can be covered way more in depth.

Mongose did a series of various books...

Elementalism
Blood Magic
Chaos Magic/Wild Magic
Royal/Land/Ley Line Magic
Tatoo Magic (AEG's Mercenaries wasn't bad in this regard either.)
Dragon Magic (But wait, we've got that covered in many aspects...)
Demonology (Specilaist summoner?)

Joe,

Yeah well I'd like to see a different take for Blood Magic. It was alright but it could have been better. Didn't see the tatto magic one and the only one I'm familiar with is, as I said, Scarred Lands magical tattoos.

Plus Mongoose's Demonology wasn't that good, I thought.

I always see rules that dance around it. Arcana Evolved has Blood As Power which lets you inflict some hp damage (on yourself or another) to boost a spell; Complete Arcana has the Blood Magus which is a wonky half-caster that gets a few blood-themed effects; BoVD has eeeeevil sacrifice rituals (which seem to involve life more than blood); and of course we have vampires, who drain blood but don't seem to have much mechanical use for it.

Some kind of Oath Magic would be quite awesome, too. Again, Arcana Evolved has a bit of this (the Oathsworn class), but there it's just flavor -- any oath will grant all class abilities. BoED has some Sacred Vows, but they last for your whole career. I'd love to see some kind of oath that has an effect and can be discharged. (And then we can change gease/quest to simply force someone to accept a particular kind of Oath.)

Anyway. MORE TOME OF MAGIC PLEASE!!! :)

Thanks, -- N

No, no more new subsystems.

If there is a Tome of Magic II being considered by WotC I really hope it simply adds to Tome of Magic I. In other words, more material for the classes and magic systems in Tome of Magic I. And fixes to them, too, along with errata.

If you let WotC continue making new stuff they never support their new "old" stuff. Wouldn't you rather see more material expanded for Tome of Magic I than new systems of magic creatd and forgotten?

I'm unfamiliar with those. What was the quality like? Were they balanced in light of 3.5e?

Are they worth seeking out?

Thanks, -- N

And here comes Razz to ruin the fun! ;) *is kidding* I honestly see your point Razz, but I'm hoping they offer ways that don't include base classes.

Nifft,

Some were alright (Blood Magic, Chaos Magic, ley line magic, and Elementalism), but some like Demonology were kind of poor.

Yeah I want to see more details done too for those ideas as well, blood and oath magics would be very nice.
