Please tell me a few ideas for the following characters:

1) A Paladin of Tyr (Human)
2) A Cleric of Kelemvor (Dwarf)
3) A Rogue that run away from the Pirate Isles (accused of his captains' murder) (Human)

All located in the Dalelands nowadays...

Well the one thing that popped to mind is maybe the dwarf met Kelemvor before the time of troubles and that is one reason why he is a cleric for him.

*gruff dwarf voice* I follow a god I believe in and have met, I love the sound of undead under my hammer.

;)

Maybe the rogue has in his posession a treasure map from somewhere in the Pirate Isles. The Sea of Fallen Stars is ideal for a good old treasure hunt. Maybe the dwarf is reluctant and gruff about the sea voyage, and maybe the paladin wants to clean up all the evil that infests the Pirate Isles.

Ashabenford would be a good place to start as it is nicely described mapped in the FRCS.

As for the characters,

- The dwarven cleric has arrived via the Underdark passages that reach from the Great Rift to Glen. He accompanied a group that is going in search of the legendary lost mines of Tethyamar, which provides a hook for an adventure/mini-campaign later on. Of course, the reason that he does not continue with his fellows is that his faith makes him something of an oddity.
- The paladin of Tyr is new in town, seeking out the Tyrran priest, Nerval Watchwill, to see what aid he may render.
- The rogue has arrived in Ashabenford as a guard/scout for a caravan en route from Hillsfar (or further afield) owned by the Black Eagle Coster headquartered in Asahabenford.

How to throw them all together? What if they arrive at the same time as each other, which is also the same time as a band of orcs arrive (the Riders are off chasing drow). The orcs' tracks can later be followed to Galath's Roost and the Dungeon Adventure, "Raiders of Galath's Roost", can be run. Alternatively, swap the orcs for goblins, have them attack an outlying farm and send the party off in search of the Sunless Citadel (just make a couple of changes to give it a Moanderite theme).

Anyhow, just a few thoughts.

Cheers

Very good ideas!
Actually we're just finishing the "Riders of Galath Roost" but the ideas for the background of the PCs are great. I'm definitely going to use some of the ideas ...

thanx

The Dalelands. Perhaps Moander the fallen god tries to somehow make a return by seizing again his former slaves the Saurials (in the latest Dragon, by the by. Right now in my FR campaign there is a big war going one when an elven city just mysteriously dissappeared due to mysterious circumstances. The elves have declared a war of purification on the humans, blaming them for the fall of the elven city due to the humans encroaching ever farther into the forests formerly owned by the elven peoples. Playing up on the ever-increasing agitation between human settlers and elven purists, the Eldreth Veluuthra (an elf supremicist human-hating terrorist group detailed in Lords of Darkness) has swelled from an obscure fringe group numbering less than a hundred to being supported (actively or passively) by thousands of elves. The humans, in retaliation, have began increasingly making raids deep into the forests seizing all the power they can.

I'm a big fan of the Finders Stone trilogy. I love Moander...Maybe there's a priest of Moander out there still trying to restart the cult.
Dragonbait is a paladin of Tyr. Maybe your human paladin gets a message from him in the lost Dale in the Desertmouth Mts.

Riders of Galath Roost. Is that one of the Zhentarim Adventures from Dungeon?

If it is, you can follow through with the Zhents. Even if it isn't, you've got a group that would probably work well foiling some Zhentish slave trading on the Moonsea.

The Rogue can use some of his Pirate skills, the Paladin gets to right the wrongs of slavery, and you can throw in some undead for the Cleric. You could have the Zhents selling slaves to the Thayans. A Thayan Necromancer is likely to use, or *be* undead.

They can easily stop a shipment in the Moonsea, but pick up information about the entire operation, leading to a series of adventures, taking them all over the Moonsea and Sea of Fallen Stars. And all that just for one Thayan slave trader and his cronies.

I didn't read any of the replies, so forgive me if I repeat.

The paladin of Tyr may be faced with either a corrupt town constible or a simply overzealous chaotic one, who is being unfair to the citizens, possibly culminating in a planned public execution of a number of "traitors" who got caught up in this constibles way. Possibly family memebers of one or more of the would-be executed contacted the church of Tyr to come find justice for thier loved one. This could go in many directions from here. Maybe the PC's have to solve the murder (or whatever), find the missing crown jewels, and the real thief. Or somehow resolve the situation with this constible. He'd likely have some hidden motive, such as wanting the land owned by the accused, and he needs them out of the way.

Clerics of Kelemvor would probably be motivated to solve the mystery of graves being robbed, and/or the dead being animated. Maybe someone is using undead minions to comit some kind of crime.
