If I ran an RPG company I would make_________.

I would find a way to make a epic adventure that came closer to simulating fantasy literature rather than the wierd genere that D&D has made for itself. Players would start on a small farm and eventually stop Sauron/Morgoth/The Dark One/The Great Enemy.

12- 14 inch (barbie sized) monsters and characters. posed, enamelled bronze on nice bases in limited editions.

bronze mind flayers and ogres and beholders. it would be sooo much fin, and with the appropriate persmission you could use MM art even :)

OR

"off knights" a collections of one shots with pregen characters that could be run with 1-3 people for nights when 1 person cannot make the game, but you still wanna kill somehting/solve something/play something.

I almost did this as a product line, I think the product line was "Single Knight" or something like that but alas it never was more then an idea...

Also for those whom like Al Quadim try our Dry Land book for desert/sandy goodness.

For something gritty post apocolyptic fantasy like click on my sig for info on Fall of Man!

Interesting... Just last week I sent Osseum the following product announcement:

Slavelords of Cydonia is an epic campaign sourcebook for use with Bad Axe Games' Grim Tales. Part sourcebook, part adventure, this tome details the Second Great War between the tentacled Lethid horrors and the cruel reptilian Sli’ess—and the PCs are caught in between! The first Lethid/Sli’ess war sundered the Earth and sank mighty Atlantis, and it is up to the players to stop a second cataclysm.

The adventure portion of this sourcebook is cleverly constructed so that the GM can set his campaign in any era, from the sword-and-sorcery Archaic era, to the crowded streets of the Modern era, to the desolate wastes of the Post-Apocalyptic era. The GM can even run the adventure across several eras, allowing the players to play their own heroic descendants. The adventures can be run as a single epic adventure spanning levels 1-20, or broken up and dropped into an ongoing campaign.

The sourcebook contains greater detail on two of the major villains introduced in the Grim Tales campaign rulebook, the Lethid and the Sli’ess. The history and motivations of these two machiavellian threats is laid bare for the GM, along with plenty of new rules: new Lethid and Sli’ess creatures, new psionic powers, occult spells, and fantastic technology.

We really need to do product swaps Wulf! All your stuff is so solid.

Get my projects done.

A small town reporter goes to interview the town's busiest man. They talk for a bit as the fellow does chores. After the interview is done the reporter asks, "Have you ever thought of taking a vacation or something?"

To which the man replies, "Every now and then I think about procrastinating, but I keep putting it off."

1) An d20 game about King Arthur. I know there is "I, Mordred", but it sucks, and Pendragon, which is good, but is too artsy (and not d20). I'd like something similar to the old boardgame from TSR, Knights of Camelot, in theme.

2) A book on Ninjas

3) A realistic paranormal investigation game

I would do mythical version of real world places throughout history. I would go into different cultures and peoples; the traditions, the beliefs, what it was like. I would do more based off of realy world mythologies and fairie tales. But not just one version of them. I would offer a few versions so people can choose which fits best. I'd do the same with creative myths, just myths and stories that can be added into a campiagn.

And I would do Thieves World d20.

I second Crothian on both of these. No world is more detailed or interesting than the real world- there is a wealth of material to be mined there that is largely ignored by gamers.

Theives World D20 would kick butt! I still have all the 1st Edition Thieves World material put out by Chaosium, but it was rather difficult to find anything in. Its time for a revamp.

My own list:

A big book on religion and the followers of gods. WotC really dropped the ball on this one with Deities & Demigods- they put out a useless book. Book of the Righteous was incredible- but left a few things out. What effects do holy days have on game play? How can different religions use rituals and sacraments to achieve special effects. Religious relics, divine servitors for each deity, an alternate domain list that actually makes clerics have DIFFERENT spell lists from each other, new uses for divine channeling abilities other than turning undead, etc. (I have lots of ideas on this one, but haven't had time to work through them yet).

I'm not a big fan of published adventures- but I LOVE MEG's short adventures (Foul Locales series). They are darker, grittier, not hack-n-slash, and more horror oriented- and by far the best adventures on the market. I'd love to see longer and more adventures done by you guys. There are too many typical fantasy adventures out there- explore the darker and grittier side of fantasy further. Numion mentioned this as well, but a MEG's style Enemy Within Campaign would be AWESOME!

First, thanks always nice to see compliments, saw one for Bluffside and now for the FL series, not why I started this thread, but nice to see regardless :D .

For the religion book you will hopefully not have to wait much longer we have Pantheons and Pagan Faiths scheduled for a December release it will be a 208 page softcover all about, well you guessed it religion, it is made for The Hunt BUT like all of our products it can be used with any medium fantasy setting.

As for the Enemy Within Campaign idea, I will make sure Doug sees this thread.

;)

You're welcome Hal, MEG is consistently my favorite D20 publisher (and I'm not just ass-kissing by saying that). Pantheons and Pagan Faiths sounds really cool- I can't believe that one slipped under my radar. I'll be sure to check it out. And I know a lot of people who would be VERY interested in another Enemy Within style game- I think you'd have a winner!
