If I ran an RPG company I would make_________.

Also for those whom like Al Quadim try our Dry Land book for desert/sandy goodness.[/I]

Dry Lands wasn't reall what I wanted. I wanted something akin to OA - a big toolboxy book that provides options for a variety of different styles of play. So not really al-Quaidm either I guess, but options ofr an arabian nights type game and a more historical game. different cultures weapons and classes and PrCs. Elemental wizards and genies and dervishes and rules for dying in deserts and the like...

I haven't seen Dry Lands around, but the preivews and what the author said about it on this board didn't make it sound like what I wanted.

A book entitled Alliteration is the Devil. :)

Seriously, I'm gonna agree with everyone that said adventures. I especially think there's a huge untapped market with d20 Modern, so I would probably focus on that.

I would make...

...A martial arts system I can easily understand and use;

...Magic items the whole family can use;

...An RPG based on Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato);

...An RPG based on Space: Above and Beyond;

...A supplement on Faerie Dragons (I'm actually working on this one...);

...Custom Dice Bags like the old Bag of Dice Holding;

...A campaign setting that isn't dark or evil;

...Myself listen to others so I could be a good DM :)

Geomorphs...

I've been looking for some quality generic maps/geomorphs for some time. No monsters or traps, leave those to me, the DM, but give me some generic maps that I can fill in with traps, treasure, and monsters as I see fit.

The map-a-week section of Wizard's website is pretty cool, but I would like to see a full book of such maps. I also would like to see random dungeon geomorphs.

We really need to do product swaps Wulf! All your stuff is so solid.

Thanks for the compliment, sir!

My stuff may be solid but my brain is fried... Just watch around here for the print release announcement and drop me a line with an "Ahem!" to remind me.

Fall of Man looks great, by the way! I used to get little chills watching Thundarr on a Saturday morning-- creeped me out. (In a good way!)

Do you have the Complete Dungeon Builder's Handbook, published under TSR in 2ed AD&D? It has dozens of geomorphs.

As an independent writer, I'm doing more or less what I want to do, and getting closer to satisfied with how I do it.

To me, "having a company" means having a real budget to play with, at which point I'd going after the premium and super-premium game market with a vengeance. I want to build the giant-sized D&D campaign with everything you need in a big fat box. Something that would make someone throw down $75 or $100 with a mighty cry of "WAHOO!"

Yeah, baby.

"old school" dice. The sharp-pointy type where you filled in the numbers yourself. The type you made sure you picked up lest you be visiting the emergency room to have them extracted from your foot the next morning.

an RPG based solely on feudal/mythical Japan much as the old Bushido game was (LOT5R does not count).

a similar RPG based on China during the period of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

a D20 product based on the Final Fantasy world.

I would make.....

A long campaign/adventure that would take evil characters through 5-6 levels of adventuring. Not saying evil on a BOVD aspect, but more setting up a crime syndicate, capturing an evil artifact, assassinating a good king, overthrowing a good church, etc. Something where the goal of the adventure is not good, but the characters aren't slaughtering children and raping women either. If I look to film for examples:

Along the lines of Reservoir Dogs, Oceans Eleven, Boondock Saints. I think that would fill a void of different adventures.

I also think a city based theives campaign is really needed. Maybe a Bluffside sourcebook??????
