D&D 4E If Not 4e, Then...

What'chagonnado?

If 4e doesn't suit, we'll play some Star Wars Saga, some Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and some other games. Our main game will either be D&D 3.5e (most likely), or perhaps a custom system I put together from the best of 3.5e, 4e, SWSE and my own thoughts.

Actually, if 4e does become our game of choice, we'll still play some SWSE, WFRP and other games as well.

I'll be converting over to Savage Worlds. I have plenty of Paizo's Pathfinder stuff to work with, so I couldn't be happier with my decision. :)

Not that I dislike most of what I've seen of 4E, its just that what I HAVE seen made me say "Meh" to often. That said, I do hope it does well, it just isn't my cup of tea.

If 4e doesn't work out, my group will probably end up playing other RPGs, and doing some boardgaming and miniatures. That's the sort of thing we did when 2e AD&D was getting tedious for us, and I think it's likely to be similar now. We may still sometimes play D&D (3.5 or BECMI) too, but not very often. I already have a couple of ideas for Runequest and Pendragon campaigns, and one of the other players has been talking about Mongoose Traveller.

I'll run Chaosium's Basic Roleplaying game...

once they finish the proofing, et. al. Hopefully they'll have amalgamated CoC/RuneQuest's 3 magic systems & ancients combat; the demonology from Stormbringer; & the Island of Dr. Moreau-esque Hawkmoon rules into genuinely compatable whole (unlike my own efforts, see below).

I mostly run a Call of C'thulhu/Avalon Hill's 3rd Ed. RuneQuest campaign, Gaulia, Sweet Gaulia (1775 Fairie Tale France).

“Nothing on the face of this earth --and I do mean nothing- is half so dangerous as a children's story that happens to be real, and you and I are wandering blindfolded through a myth devised by a maniac.” -- Master Li Kao (Tang Dynasty)

Gaulia, Sweet Gaulia

Or what happens when...

The Three Musketeers and the Brothers Grimm, meet Warhammer Fantasy Battle Chaos Gods, Stormbringer Chaos Gods, and C'thulhu.

I play in my youngest son's 3.5E Order of the Stick campaign every Saturday & Jon Caudill's Tableknight's 3.5E campaign every other Friday

I've already ordered the 4E core books from Amazon, so we'll see.

Happy Gaming!

Continue with "3.75" & video games.

I'm not too keen on 4e... yet. Some of the changes just seem too wonky. I'd be more apt to house rule my 3.5 further using the cooler aspects of 4e.

Before 4th ed info came out my group has pretty much been playing Mutants and Masterminds or nWoD. After sitting down with the 4th ed demo stuff we are definitely going to be playing 4th ed, but without it would still be M&M and nWoD.
