If you are bored I could use Ideas for a Epic level Villian

First Post
Here is the deal, My Homebrew world is off to a very good start and my players are starting to really get interested in what the world is like elsewhere. So..... I basically hinted at the fact there is an Dark lord that has taken over a kingdom once Held by the devout worshipers of Suilidar, my home brews Sun god.

Minnions include Two deathknights, 20 Vampiric generals, a demon advisor, and an army of thousands of undead of verying degree's and types ( thanks Piratecat for the Necropede :) ) And a Lich dragon. One of the reasons he turned towards the dark path is that his wife had been dying of an unknown desease Suilidar failed him in his opinnion to fix her problems, so he turned to the lost Necromantic arts to try and save her, In the end he was forced to take her into a vampiric state to save her. When his father and two elder brothers came to stop his vile dark acts of magic he slew them becoming a Kinslayer. Some how I would like the Kinslayer shown in his stats no clue how besides a wierd PrC that would never truly exist anywhere anyhow.

He was once the most noble Paladin of Suilidar, and now he worships The Hates a combine of dark gods whom I have hinted he actually communicates with frequently. He prefers the Nightshard which is the Nemesis of the Sunblade as his weapon of choice. but has a few other magical Items

He wears a jet black Fullplate armor known as Anduruinath which has engraven images of demons, and other fiendish monsters completely covering it...this needs some ideas as well
I was thinking that the demons and other engravings may move
and that a large demon face on the breastplate could get a gaze attack of some sort( Enchantments I already have on it are fear, featherweight, and Resistance ( Cold)

His wife was at her turning into undeath a 7th level Cleric of Suilidar (almost two thousand years have passed since the demise of these two, so more levels have come I am sure)

He is human, and She is Half Elven.
His Second in Command Nehro, is a Deathknight Halfling created when Nehro et Nehro the Imfamous Assasin/ Rogue was slain by the Villians Father after being tortured during an Inquisition.

I was thinking for a Name of the Villian Arrian Thorne, His Wifes Rularsha. He should be able to shift his form into the Guise of a rotting corpse in fine golden armor, and also change into a man of such great charm that he glows as the sun would glow.

He may perhaps be a Quasideity Divine rank (0) and even perhaps a Proxie for a god similar to Nerul, or Vecna

His Paladins mount followed him to the dark powers and became one with the evilness of its master... It is an undead Black Unicorn with blue fire for eyes.

And he has two creatures similar to Dark hounds from WoT, or as Hell hounds names Ghosthounds

The creature below is the one I have decided has flocked to Arriane's side as an advisor... It is whispering suggestive thoughts into Arrianes head that will eventually lead him to fulfill the dark designs of the Blade Demons Master.

Blade Demons are large, powerful fiends with a zeal for combat. They can be found with almost any evil force consisting of or capable of summoning fiends, for they are not truly demons. Powerful as they are, they do not make terribly effective leaders or generals: They aren't terribly bright.

Blade Demons appear as massive red scaled humanoids with two horns sticking straight back and down from their skull(The angle is far enough back to prevent a gore attack) and a massive underbite. 25% of Blade Demons have wings (Roll 1d8. On a result of 1 or 8, that blade demon has wings. Winged blade demons may serve as cavalry. A typical blade demon is around 10 or 12 feet tall and proportioned as a burly human, weighing in at about 700 pounds. Their horns are 2 feet long.

A normal blade demon speaks Abyssal, Infernal, and Draconic. Those with above-average intelligence scores may speak Celestial, Ignan, or Common

Combat:
Blade demons relish carnage but don't care much for strategy. They prefer to prove themselves against Fighters and Barbarians rather than picking softer targets. Their favorite targets are Paladins. They do not retreat once in melee, though they will maneuver to avoid being ganged up upon.

Spell-like Abilities(sp): At will: Detect Good, Detect Magic, Produce Flame, See Invisibility 3/day: Bull's Strength(self only), Cat's Grace(self only), Dispel Magic, Endurance (self only) 1/day Fireball or Lightning Bolt, Haste(self only), Unholy Blight . Save DC 13+Spell Level

Summon Fiend(sp): Once per day a Blade Demon can attempt to summon other fiends according to its alignment on the table below with a 30% chance for success:
Lawful Evil Neutral Evil Chaotic Evil
1d8 Blade Demons 1d3 Hamatulas 1d4 Mezzoloths 1d3 Bebiliths
or 1d6 Kytons 1d6 Canoloths 2d10 Dretches

They will not use this ability unless it is crucial to their survival. Lawful or chaotic demons would be indebted and the Yugoloths summoned by Neutral Blade demons have a 25% chance of attacking the blade demon.

Wounding(su): At hit from a Blade Demon's Sword or Claw causes a bleeding would. The injured creature loses 2 hit points per round per wound until the wounds are bound(Heal check DC 10. Note: magical healing does not work, unless this restores the creatures HP to full) or the creature dies. This is a quality of the Blade Demon, not the weapon.

Immunities(ex): Blade Demons are immune to poison and acid.
Resistances(ex): Blade demons have cold, fire, and electricity resistance 20.

Telepathy(su): Blade demons can communicate telepathically with anything within 100 feet that has a language.

Blade Demon Society:
Blade demons are in fact Yugoloths, the name was chosen in ignorance. However, they can be of any evil alignment. Lawful Evil Blade Demons can be found in Infernal armies. These Blade Demons might carry a greatsword and a shield. Chaotic Evil Blade Demons sometimes appear in Demonic hordes. These are more likely to fight tooth and claw. Neutral Blade demons are usually members of Yugoloth mercenary armies.

Blade Demon Characters:
A Lawful Blade Demon's favored class is Fighter, while a chaotic one's is barbarian. A Neutral Blade Demon usually just takes extra hit dice.

An idea for the Main Bad Guy (or one of his high-level generals) -- use the Pale Commander path from the latest Dragon (the Drow issue).

Fighter 10/Wizard 10/Spellsword 10/Pale Master 10 is nasty.

Not Quite Epic but easy to modify

Here are a couple I used for a near Epic game. Easy enough for you to raise them a few levels. One note on the mind flayer, undead are not supposed to be able to use psychokinetic powers due to not having a CON score. I allowed for them to supliment CHA similar to the way they do for concentration skill checks. If that doesn't work for you swithc her to a telepath.

Hmmm. I was thinking a paladin/blackguard/divine agent. That gives you the communication with the Hates (a divine agent power), the corruption of a former paladin, and the undead mount. It doesn't give you the evil necromantic magic, unfortunately, but there must be a way to work that in.

He has leadership up the wazoo, perhaps several times, as well as epic leaqdership. An interesting curse might be that every time he meets someone new, they look exactly like one of his relatives that he killed. Imagine, looking over a crowd and seeing copy after copy of the people you killed.... Sure, it fades after time, but it might make for some interesting roleplaying. It also might explain why he's staying at home and having his cohorts conquer the world, instead of venturing out and doing it himself.

Tehe I like that cursed quality He would be to afraid to go outside his own home because every one he saw would be his kin....
Epic Leadership/ Leadership and a high Charisma ( He is known as the White Son or Fair son of Darkness) From a welsh tale

For a different twist on the whole "evil warrior" thing, look up in the manual of the planes the baatezu Naarzugon. They go up as character, not hit dice. They clearly sound like fallen holy warriors (any one seeing their face risks being killed by the sorrow)

Ancalagon

Well my epic campaign has an epic blackguard as the main villain. He has destroyed the PC's homeland, driven them from home and made most of them swear revenge against him.

Matthias was a paladin of my LG god but something happened to him nearly 35 years ago(can't say since my players visit this board) and when he returned he found his family had been made destitute due to his dissaperance. Well he killed them which in his mind was mercy and after which he swore to have everyone else face his mercy.

Again he vanished for the next 30 years before arising the new ruler of a faction in a evil state next to the PC's homeland. In a civil war, he finally seized the reins of power and and carried on his crusade to the neighbouring lands. At this point he called his campaign to a halt.

The party tried to interfere in his plans but one warning from him scared them off........(at least till they equal his level).

Now Matthias has a group of people who share his same views, a Jarondar(a cleric), Kull (barbarian), Darius Sith(lich sorcerer) and Yaervilar(monk/assasin). The group has accessed a font of forbidden power making them almost on par with the gods. The aprty traced the place where they gained their power and learned that the only way to face off was to draw power from the same source. In game terms, they are all Paragons.

Matthias next plan is to slay his patron demon lord to absorb his latent power and gain enough power to complete his goal. After that he will go on to his next step of his grand plan which is the destruction of the world. We shall see how far I can take this.

Matthias himself is a brother of one of the PCs(long story), hated by the church inquisitor player and attracts the curiousity of the paladin player.

Matthias himself right now is a Paragon Half-fiend human Blackguard 24.

Enjoy
