If you made your own RPG company

If you not only created your own RPG making company, but also have the power to acquire certain notable RPGs, what would those games be? Also, what other kinds of RPGs would you make for your company?

Notable games I would acquire would be Dungeons & Dragons, Legend of the Five Rings, Traveller, Shadowrun, Rifts, Call of Cthulhu, World of Darkness, Deadlands, Champions, Feng Shui, and Hollow Earth Expedition.

Other games I would make for my company would be a swashbuckling themed game, a prehistoric themed game, a Victorian steampunk themed game, a modern action themed game, a special WWII themed game, a mythological greco-roman themed sword-and-sandal game, a low fantasy themed game (like WFRP), and a bio-punk themed game, just to name a few.

The one I would most be interested in acquiring is Rifts. Not because it is necessarily my favorite (though I did go through a big Rifts phase back in high school), but because then I could actually give it some decent rules. Most of the others that you have listed (that I have played) I would not feel compelled to make any major changes, but Rifts... I'm not sure exactly what I would do, but I'd definitely do something.

Also if we add licenses, I'd love to make a game based on Harry Potter or the Percy Jackson books.

Wow. Not leaving a lot for the rest of us, really, are you?

For me, it'd be D&D, and World of Darkness; they're the two that are near-and-dear for me.

I'd also love to have a go at the RIFTS property, granted. It's like a $ 150 platter of all the appetizers in every restaurant in the city - delivered to you in ingredient form, with jumbled instructions; there are fantasic ideas, and you just <know> there's fun to be had, if you can puzzle it all out.

Naturally Dungeons and Dragons comes to mind, but on the other hand, I am not overly interested in buying things other people aren't willing to sell.

Things I might like to pursue of I had my own RPG company...
Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG
Narnia RPG
A Fantasy RPG in which the protagonist are Lycanthropic (though without the emo baggage of WoD)
A flexible horror RPG

I'd like to develop some myths and settings of under developed cultures.

E.G.s

Native American mythology RPG (not civil war...no "settlers" allowed).
Mayan and/or Aztec RPG
Nordic Mythology RPG
Aborigine Dreamlands RPG
and so on.

(I'm aware some of these have been done, but often they're made to fit in with western/traditional fantasy).

First I would buy rifts and d and d then my first d &d Sergei g would be rifts

Then I would want the rights to star gate, Dresden, and Percy Jackson... Then I would make a modern rpg based on mixing gamma world and Wod rules so that each of the three could be settings

I would probably make something universal like GURPS which could be used as the core system for my settings.

I would have three main supported settings:

a) A somewhat 'realistic' fantasy setting. The main two influences for it would be the works of R. Howard and Three Kingdoms Era China. However, the fringes and cracks of the setting would be filled with many things inspired by things I like; a splash of romance would be nice. Humans would not be the most dominant race.

b) A pre-apocalypse setting. What do I mean? Instead of being like Fallout or Mad Max in which the game takes place after the bad stuff has happened, I would want the campaign to be setting in the time when it is currently happening. Civilization is we know it is still hanging on, but just barely in most places; it's quickly starting to crumble. Influences for this would be real world current events, Grand Theft Auto, and a few tropes from westerns.

c) I have some ideas for a third one, but I've decided that I would want the third one to be something which was pitched to me. I know that my ideas are probably pretty partial to things I like, so I would want an outside source to influence my choice on the third.

If possible, I'd also want to hire Stan Lee as part of my creative writing team.

I wouldn't be interested in properties like D&D. Sure, it would be cool, but anything you do with it will just generate backlash. I would be interested in getting some other properties though.

Skyrealms of Jorune
Cyberpunk

Like others, I would be interested in current pop culture stuff (Harry Potter, Last Airbender, etc.). I think that it makes sense from a money/sales standpoint and it makes sense from a bringing new blood to RPGs standpoint.

I would like to do a Pathfinderized version of the Wheel of Time series since there's only one more book to go. I would like to see Dune get a rpg treatment though not sure what kind of ruleset I'd use to go with it. I'd like to do a Mass Effect game too and would use the same ruleset for Dune with this one.

If I was own any existing games, I'd like Pathfinder under my belt, but I'd keep the Paizo staff and let them do what they are doing, because I can't see how I'd top their model other than break into mass market and optioning on movies, MMORPG, board games, etc.

To add to my previous post...

If I could, I'd want this song [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coerMpEm4zc]YouTube - Austrian Death Machine Double Brutal Intro T2 Theme[/ame]

to be used for some kind of commercial for my fantasy setting.

(note: if you go to the link, the actual song doesn't start until about a minute in)
