Ignore a thread?

I know we can ignore selected posters, but is there a way to ignore an entire thread? Aside from just not reading it? There have been times when I got so sick of seeing a thread that I just wished it would vanish from my screen.

No huge priority, just curious.

Prescience. If you know someone is going to annoy you and will become a mod, you can ignore them before they become one.
It's worked in a few cases for diaglo - he just has to perfect this ability.
