Good. Increasing the amount of legal weapons in the hands of citizens while not increasing the amount of weapons in the hands of criminals will definately let me sleep a bit more easily.

Unfortunately, citizens with guns does little to prevent crime. The "I need to protect my home and family" is a such a fallacy. If anything, it increases the amount of accidental shootings.

Studies have shown that even if presented with a situation where someone is breaking into your home, the chances to actually have an opporunity to use your firearm is small to none. And if you do, it makes the intruder that much more likely to fire back. Keeping a loaded firearm, nevermind an automatic one, is a lot less safe than the slim chance someone will break into your home while you are there. And if someone robs you while you aren't home, guess what they are going to steal? If you chose your guns, then you guessed right.

Keep it on topic: Ok, so it's not that we actually forbid off-topic conversation. But keep in mind that this is a D&D and D20 site, with many sub-forums on lots of related topics. Try to put your posts in the right forums (it helps people find stuff, for one thing); off-topic posts go in the Off Topic forum. By popular demand, off-topic polls (not posts -- polls) are forbidden. And in this category I should mention the "no religion, no politics" rule -- please refrain from discussion of a religious or political nature. This last may seem a rather draconic rule, but it has helped keep the peace around here for a long time. There are plenty of places on the internet where one could have those sorts of discussion.
