Colonel, I have a bottle of Starka with your name on it. It's a Lithuanian liquor made from the leaves of apples and pears and mixed with a touch of cognac and port. It's practically medicinal.

Since I most likely will not be attending GenCon, can I post it, along with any rules inquiries, to Tactical Studies Rules, POB 756, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin 53147? If not, I'll gladly send the bottle along with someone who will be attending the Con.

The 2nd half of the Super Bowl was excrutiating and I hope Rex Grossman's performance didn't set your recovery back too far. There's always something on the horizon though..... baseball season is nigh.....are you a Cubs or a Sox fan?

Wow, I didn't know you had shingles, sorry to hear that, and I'm glad you're feeling better. I had shingles many years ago, and fortunately caught it very early, so I have no residuals from it, and I hope you don't either.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at Gen Con and hopefully getting your autograph, but of course, your health comes first, so take it easy and get well!

Starka sounds wonderful. My best friend Tom Keogh's mother was Lithuanian but all he ever talkd about was Scotch...for shame! It wasn't only Grossman that played badly. Most of the Bears team seemed to lack drive and determination to win. Getting to the superbowl is an accomplishment in itself, and wait until 2008

As I was born on the north side of Chicago, about four blocks from Wrigley Field, I am a Cubs fan. The Bears played there too when I was a lad.

If you come to a con in Lake Geneva I'll spring for New Glasrus nut brown ale, India pale ale, and their excellent barley wine. The brew I would love to try is the Samuel Adams aged wine-from-beer!

For shame indeed! Lithuanians are funny that way though. Many who have been in the U.S. a long time don't want anything to do with the "old country". In Lithuania my relatives laughed at me when I brought a bottle of Lithuanian vodka to a party. They'd rather have the Russian stuff.....almost any other country for whiskey. Lithuania does an excellent job when it comes to mead and the mixing of various herbal concoctions with other liquors though.

Yeah, I've had some disasters mailing bottles. The address I posted was straight from Men & Magic. I figured it was no longer valid but thought I'd ask for old times' sake.

You're right about that, but a couple of Grossman's interceptions were particularly egregious. Way to look at the bright side.

It's funny though. I was born on the southside, near Marquette Park, as was my father, but for some reason he latched onto the Cubs at an early age and passed that allegiance along to me. I grew up in Sox territory but I've always been a Cubs fan nonetheless.

My wife brought home a bottle of six-year-old Jameson's Irish whiskey, so I am having same for cocktail time tonight
