I'm Back...Sorta

But... go Bears? Considering the location of storied Lake Geneva, I would have taken you for a Lions fan, insofar as such still exist. ;)

Lions? Lake Geneva is closer to Chicago than anything else (only about an hour and a half northwest), though, being in Wisconsin, there's probably many Packer fans there, too.

However, areas on the border between the two states, like Lake Geneva, often have a lot of Bear fans. And, the Colonel was born in Chicago, so I'll forgive him his affiliation in this matter. :)

Welcome back, Colonel! Glad to hear you're feeling better. IIRC, the duration on shingles is 1d4+2 months...so I'm hoping your DM didn't roll a "4" on you.

Your geography is off a touch... Lake Geneva is in Wisconsin, Detroit is in Michigan, much further than Chicago. More likely to be a Packers fan... though that would preclude any possibility of saying "Go Bears!"

And is anyone really a Lions fan these days?

Oh, and great to see you back in the saddle, Gary! :D

Remember the Shingles belong on the roof, not people. ;)

Sorry I couldn't help it. I've had friends and family go through it, so I know it can be a painful and debilitating ailment. Just take it easy and get better. Best wishes.

Howdy Fellows,

I am well on the road to recovery now from the shingles, even though the old left eye is still bothersome when strained. At least I can read for short periods of time now without double vision. The doctor assures me that the eye is not affected. My main debility is a lack of energy that causes me to tire easily...especially after an hour working here on the keyboard.

Anyway, I hope to be able to come here every couple of days and manage short posts. If I have missed something you believe is critical, please email me with the URL for whatever it is:

ggygax@genevaonline.com

The doctors have advised me that the condition can persist for as long as six months. As I came down with shingles on 10 October, that means I had better be fully recovered by 10 April.

GO BEARS!!!

Gary
Welcome back. Even though I must now declare you an enemy of the state (of Wisconsin, that is).

Some day you'll see the light (the green and gold light, that is).

Take care.
