You're a barrel of laughs, you old salt. But something's not quite kosher about the way everyone's acting. I mean, being as you're the creator of vlassic D&D, you've let a bunch of punsters sneak up beheniz you, and frankly their puns at your expense makes me want to cuke my guts out. They're gerkin' you around and I won't stand for it. Maybe it seems like I've got a chip on my shoulder, but I'm not going to butter you up. They're spearing you in the back and this I hate to see. You're here to talk about gaming, and I want to pick your brine for a few good ideas, not to sit back while everyone's reuben it in.

Whew!

You emptied the whole vat with that post. All of those might better have been kept bottled up rather than spread around so.

Cheers,
Gary

Hi!

As of now I am able to play boardgames, with a break about every hour, but lack the wherewithal to manage GMing an RPG.

Which leads me to ask: which boardgames are you playing, Gary?

(I've picked up in the last 2 months BattleLore, Arkham Horror, El Grande and Tigris & Euphrates, all of which are quite different from each other, and amuse me at different times. :))

Cheers!

Hey Gary!
Glad to see you are back! Just wanted to pass on my best wishes to you and that you make an exceptional recovery. And I am so happy you plan on still attending Gen Con, as I wouldn't have blamed you if you had chosen not to. Can't wait! Enjoy the Super Bowl!

Gary,

sitting here drinking a nice glass of malt whisky gives me the ideal opportunity to refill and raise one to your good health! Good to hear your on the road to recovery..

I've been picking up and playing lots of boardgames lately, too: Arkham Horror (also the Dunwich and Dark Pharaoh expansions), BattleLore, and Ticket to Ride: Europe are some recent ones. I've also been picking up more old-school wargames, like Three Battles of Manassas, A Victory Lost, Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit #2, and Bonaparte at Marengo (that last one is not "old school," but it's a great wargame). Come to think of it, I guess I've been playing boardgames even more frequently than RPGs, lately.

I'm looking forward to Gary's King of England, King of France game. (And Castle Zagyg, of course!)

Gary enjoys TTR:E, IIRC. (I picked it up a year ago, and think it's excellent).

Cheers!

Hi Merric,

Whatever Tom Wham is working on is at the top of my list. Standbys are: Rail Baron, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride Europe, Puerto Rico, San Juan, Power Grid...even Monopoly, Big Business, Clue now and then. If I have tme I'll gladly play Operation Overlord or chess or shogi, double chess if there are three other fans. I do hope that Troll Lord Games publishes my King of England-King of France card-boardgame soon, as I really have fun playing it with four others. (Of course I should like a game that I designed and submitted for publication  )

My tastes in boardgames asre quite eclectic, as is obvious from above.

Cheers,
Gary
