I'm calling it: The Edition War is over! And the winner is...

Wait, are you saying 'the winner is you?'

No, he's saying:

Besides, we all know that Maid the RPG is the winner of the Editions War.

The Game, we all win it!

Pa-shaw! Rolemaster wins the edition wars!

It crits your favorite edition. Your favorite edition suffers massive brain hemorrhaging as it is liquefied. It falls to the ground, gurgles, and passes away ingloriously. Anyone want some jello?

Sorry, you forgot the cap on the Tiny Animal table, the best that you could have gotten was a B result. (And who let you have a trained war marmot, anyway?)

The Auld Grump

One of the things that baffles me about the edition wars is how far some go with it. Especially not buying products from one company or the other.

Paizo just made a nice chunk of change off me the other day. Picked up the card sets Weapons Locker, Friends and Foes, Jungle Tiles, Pathfinder Lodge Map, and Arena Map. Hell, not that long ago I picked up their... I think it's Paths of the Damned? Good stuff there. Most of it useful with not only any edition, but any game.

The 1994 Ravenloft Masque of the Red Death and Other Tales Gothic Earth Victorian Era Horror 2e D&D Variant is the One True Game. All other games pale in comparison.

This is still Official TSR Policy even as I type.

And you just read this on the Internet so you know it's true!

B-)

The edition war may be over, but the low-grade guerilla style conflict will go on for years.

Besides which, I think lumping 3e variants (such as Pathfinder and Trailblazer) with "old school" is a mistake; those are really two completely different schools of gaming, with different blogospheres, a different fanbase, and just a different vibe altogether.

Just wait till WotC finally releases My Little Pony RPG. That'll be the ultimate old school game.
