I'm dying to know: Are Eric Noah and Piratecat coming to GenCon?

You know what, if I can get one of my D&D buddies to come with me, or Kara (god knows why she'd want to come but she was a real trooper last time), I will see what I can do.

You mean for this year? If you do then the first round for the both of you is on me. And if you don't like to drink alcohol then I'll buy you whatever you want. You're from Wisconsin, right? I'll buy you like a WHEEL of cheese if you'll come.

So, given that I'm not all that rich, I need to make a holiday out of it as well. And I don't want to go on holiday to the same place every year!

Is there any place in the U.S. would you like to visit? I'm sure some of us would be more than happy to show you around our corner of the country before or after the convention.

I had a blast 2 years ago, but I can say with authority, last year ENWorld was much more organized and had more of a "Community Feel" than the year before, at least for me. With our own table set up outside the dealers hall, there was always a place to meet up with people and go find something to do, wether it was game, shop, wander the art room, or just sit and chat for a while. This year is looking to be even more organized, with scheduled pickup games and other events being planned.

So next time you decide to go, I'm sure there will be PLENTY for you to do, and those percentages will flip the other way around. Plus, we really need to have a "Gathering of the Library Folk" :)

I agree. last year I decided to go because I felt It would be fun to meet some of the folks on this board face to face, I had the money and I figured I wanted to see what GenCon was like. I probably would have never gone back to GenCon if it was not for the people that I hung out with last year. Crothian, Teflon Billy, Hellhound, Dextra, Cthulhu's Librarian, Truth Seeker, Buttercup, Psion, and everyone else I fogot to menton made for a good time. This year I could really care less if there was a Con, I am going to hang with friends who made the event what it was last year. That and to get a copy of the Wilderlands CS (only 2000 of those in the world...)

But it is somthing of a chore to gather the funds for a trip to Indianapolis. I figure when the leadership (Eric Noah, Morrus, and Piratecat et al.) does decide to show up it will be even better. That will be a flagship year. And I would do everything in my power to be there. Just need to make sure that I don't schedule my wedding (or somthing just as important) the same weekend as Gen Con.

I would love to go to GenCon this year. But work is conspiring against me to make it unlikely. Besides, we just moved into a new house and that has eaten up a lot of the discretionary fundage in the household. If/when I do go, it will be to meet EN World folks. There are so many of you I would like to meet face-to-face.

So, as much as I would like to meet Eric, Morrus and Piratecat, I wouldn't avoid GenCon just because they weren't going.

Yea, Morrus, you could follow the Jester school of vacationing, and stay at ENWorlder's houses all over the country. I should have a house this time next year, and you're more than welcome to stay with us for a couple of days. We could go up to DC and see the sights up there, cause there's not really much to do in Richmond! :)
