I'll also voice Orc's Nest as being pretty cool. I picked up a T-shirt of theirs last time I was in London.

It's not exactly gaming related, but might I suggest the Wallace Collection near the Baker St. Tube station. It's a collection of medieval weaponry (both European and not) and fine art that's really neat.

If you're actually in Croydon then there's a small Forbidden Planet there that has a few game books. It's not a patch on Playin' Games or Orc's Nest - but might be worth sticking your head through the door if you're there. Don't go out of your way though.
