Awesome. My 14 year old daughter is playing a goblin Druid / Rogue Gestalt in our underdark campaign and the true terror is when she turns into a giant octopus and lays out with 8 mad sneak attack beats, followed up by improved grab & constrict. Nasty against groups of low-level baddies, but easily killed by big baddies (so she goes for dinosaur forms against them).

My 11 year old daughter is playing a halfling barbarian / cleric in the same campaign.

I don't think gestalt is all that difficult to understand. Just takes a little more bookwork. And yes, she is a smart kid.
