? Img size for Publishers

What's the usual requested size for images in publishing?
I am not asking here the dimensions usually the pics have in paper, rather the respective dimensions the publisher needs for printing or digital publishing.
Say if a publisher wants a full page pic, what dimensions should the img file have in pixels?

I wouldn't use anything under 300 dpi.

300 dpi at the actual final size the image is OK for photograph or continuous tone images

if your images contain text or graphics and you can't provide vector art(or don't know what vector art is)

then you should be sending in art at around 600dpi

and for strait black and white text and line art 1200dpi is sometimes recommended

of course individual printers my have their own recommendations

like submitting art in a PDF format etc.

We typically provide all images as 300dpi tiffs, and for all the publishers ERS has worked for, only a handful of times have we needed to provide higher resolution.
