I think it would be kind of neat if the Astral Travel of spelljamming kinda worked like traversing the immaterium in 40k.
Propably would not use it for a long campaign, but it certainly has potential.
Reading a description from this link, the githyanki could be the only ones with a "space beacon" like the Astronomican.
