Imperial Age Omnibus?

Hi Walt. A compilation sounds great, especially interested in seeing it in print. I definately go OGL as d20 modern really has dropped off the radar, mores the pity. What about True 20 as this has gone open liscence and Green Ronin are supporting it actively. However, have you thought about other systems/own system option. Were already seeing companies faced with tough decisions because their products are tied to D20. Likewise were seeing companies positioning themselves to pick up the fracture in the customer base 4th will cause. We don't know how big that fracture will be but there's a lot of compettition for a share of it already/in the pipeline. As proud as we are of Etherscope and its use of D20 part of us always regrets not creating a specific system for it. Obviously either of these options is more work which you may not want/need/have time for but worth considering. Look forward to seeing end result whichever way you go.

Thanks for the responses so far! I've appreciated them all. Keep them coming!

I just wanted to take a moment to comment on a few things:

First, by "standalone OGL," I do mean "using the d20 Modern SRD." At this time, I don't want to convert the Imperial Age to a new ruleset because we still have many releases on deck or forthcoming and I want everything to be compatible.

Second, while I am the Line Developer, I'm not involved with layout. I can afford to spend time on developing this project without upsetting the release schedule. As Bretbo mentioned it would largely be a c&p job no matter which version we ultimately decide to use.

Merova, I don't think you're being negative. "I'm not interested in either book" is just as valid an opinion as supporting one. As for your suggestions, more setting books are in the works (Burma is in layout, while Dark Continent (Africa) is being written). Some of your class suggestions are covered by Thrilling Tales classes and SRD classes and quite a few of them can be designed with just the basic classes and an appropriate occupation.

As to your question regarding a release schedule, Faerie and Fisticuffs & Swordplay are due out this month and Burma is in layout. There are several other releases on the horizon, but other than Dark Continent I'm not ready to mention them yet.

The Penny Dreadful is a special case. We've held off on them because the IA line casts such a wide net that we thought any adventure would only be useful to GMs running certain types of campaign. "Hell Hath No Fury" was an experiment. Based on support and feedback, we'll decide whether it's worth producing more.

I picked up the TT Omnibus and recently all the IA's for $1 each (thanks guys). So it makes no difference to me if an IA Omnibus comes out, as I'll be picking them up as they are published.

As for rules, I'll most likely be using True20 if and when I get the chance to run either TT or IA. I'd like you to stick with some kind of d20 variation as it will make conversions rather simple.

We've looked at True 20 and we're doing a Mutants & Masterminds version of the Imperial Age (geared towards playing Victorian superheroes). However, if we were to move to another version of d20, it would likely be the Odyssey System (which we've initially developed for Thrilling Tales 2e).

At this point, I'm not looking to change flavors, for reasons already stated. I just want to do what I can to expand the utility of the Imperial Age as-is.

Walt

P.S. Etherscope rocks!

Since True20 is my system of choice now, if anything I'd rather see things move in that direction, but since True20 doesn't need a plethora of advanced classes, I can see how going that direction would not benefit Adamant.
