Improve Point blank range

DarkMaster

First Post
Anybody know a feat, class ability to improve the 30 ft point blank (and sneak attack) range.

I was thinking of a feat (improved Point Blank) that would increase it to 45 ft, would that be too powerfull and that would have, obviously Point Blank and Far shot as a prerequisite.

There is no "official" feat for extending the range. Specifically because it would make sneak attack much more powerful if you couldn't close the distance with a 30' move. (That's just my opinion but seems like a pretty safe one.)

I believe there is a high level prestige class ability (Order of the Bow Initiate?) that doubles the range from 30' to 60 ' for precision based attacks.

In my game, as a house rule, I added a 'sniper' feat for rogues. It allows you to make ranged sneak attacks at greater distances, thpough the extra damage dice is decreased by 1 for every 10' beyond 30'. So, if your rogue normally does 5d6 sneak attack damage, he could do 4d6 at up to 40', 3d6 at up to 50', 2d6 at up to 60' or 1d6 at up to 70'. It was been very balanced in playtesting - useful in certain campaigns (wilderness adventures, etc ...), but not overpowered.
