Improved Bull Rush, Improved Overrun

I've never even seen anyone take these feats. But then again, the two live groups I play in are particular tactical. Maybe it would make a difference if they showed some interest in the tactical feats in Complete Warrior which (IIRC) require these sort of feats as prerequisites. I think, instead, that they make great NPC feats......

Just out of interest, does anyone actually take these feats?
One of the characters IMC took Improved Overrun, but when I rolled back the "get up" rules to 3.0 (no AoO) he changed it (with my permission of course). It makes for a great alternative to Improved Trip for those fighters that can't hack the Int prereq.

Only some of my larger NPCs, who might take Improved Bull Rush. Followed by Awesome Blow.

Yes, I said Awesome Blow. Go ahead, hong - you know you wanna say it...

I took Improved Bull Rush as a prereq to Shock Trooper (Complete Warrior). It's mostly useless now, but it would be helpful with the PHB2 feat, Driving Attack.

I built an NPC Dragon Disciple once that had Improved Bull Rush. With the right build, this can be an extremely powerful feat. If you can surround a player with mooks and bull rush him, all the mooks will get AoOs. The damage from this can add up pretty quick.

Of course, you have to plan specifically for this tactic both in the build and in the battle for it to work. It also works a lot better against humanoids that large monsters.

One thing you could do is combine the two feats into one.

call them Overbearing.

and the nonlethal damage from a sap can be renamed Pummelling

and leave grapple almost the same. just add an "ing" in place of the e. Grappling

diaglo "i like the way you think" Ooi
