Improved Saving Throws

OK, I've found a way around this, and completly changed my Charcter. I took one level in monk and took the ascetic mage feat from complete adventurer. I also got a robe of the archmagi. I am currently not armormed in any way. My question is - does the +5 to Armor Bonus from the robe affect my touch AC in any way? I remember seeing earlier that amulets of natural armor were added into Touch AC, because they produce a magical effect. Is this true? Will my touch AC be the same as my normal AC now?

If you're a caster, I'd recommend against a level of monk... it only delays spell progression. And the warmage is already a level behind wizard/druid/cleric as far as advancement goes...

Does help with the saves, though.

And Iron Will, Great Fortitude, and Lightning Reflexes all give +2 to saves.

No, armor from the robe does not help your touch AC. Neither does the bonus from an amulet of natural armor. Armor and natural armore are explicitly excluded from touch AC.

Vest of resistance, as meantioned above, is probably what you're looking for.

Of course, if you can go into custom items, a charisma boost fits very nicely in the circlet spot (but you already have a charisma item, so that's unlikely to be something you'd want to do).

And there are already listed on the table values for insight and luck bonuses to saving throws. Those can be added onto a vest of resistance for relatively little cost (assuming you don't get more than +1 of each!)

As already mentioned (twice) Vest of resistance is a vest version of Cloak of Resistance.

And/Or use Belt of Magnificence in Miniatures Handbook. It is "all ability scores +X" item which shares only one item slot. So you can use other items including Cloak of Resistance. Expensive. But may work well if you are playing high-level campaign.

Within core rules, Rod of Splendor (Cha +4) may work, too.

What I eventually ended up doing was getting rid of the +4 Full Plate I had, and also knocked my Amulet of Natural Armor and Ring of Protection from +3 each to +2 each. I retooled my character (which has not been used yet - I am creating it for a game on sunday); I am now a 1st-level monk and 13th level Warmage. I did not like having to wait until 15th level to get 7th level spells, but everything else was really good, so I decided to live with it.

As for equipment, I have a Cloak of Charisma +6 and an Ioun Stone that boosts my Charisma by 2. I also have an Amulet of Natural Armor +2 and a Ring of Protection +2, and Gloves of Dexterity +4. I also bought a Robe of the Archmagi.

I took the feat aestic(sp?) mage from Complete Adventurer, which, among other things, let's me add my charisma bonus to my AC when I would be able to add my wisdom bonus (hence the level of monk).

After everything is said and done, I have an AC of 33 (10 base + 5 from the Robe, +9 from Chr, +5 from Dex, +2 from Nat. Armor, +2 from Ring of Protection). My touch AC (which should exclude Armor and Natural Armor) is 26 (10 base + 9 chr + 5 dex + 2 ring of protection) and my Flat Footed AC is 19 (10 base, 5 armor, 2 Natural, 2 Ring of protection).

Can anyone please check over my AC and make sure I have done everything correctly? I would really appreaciate that, as I consider not following the rules to be cheating, even if you didn't follow the rules out of ignorance. I don't like to cheat, and therefore want to do everything in my power to make sure I am not cheating.

Fortunately, it's only a +2 difference. You might think of swapping the stone out for another stone - Dusty Rose Prisim - for the +1 insight bonus to AC, and perhaps a Ring of Force Shield, if you don't intend to be running around with a Shield spell up continuously.

I'd actually already swapped it out for the Dusty Rose Ioun stone, but I had not thought of a Ring of Force Shield. However, after all my purchases, I only have 3,100 GP, so I cannot afford one.
