Improved Toughness

I was actually responding to the people who were suggesting exactly the Houserule you just mentioned (see Snowy above).
Ah. When I read Snowy's post I had thought he was suggesting a simple replacement. I hadn't realized that he might be suggesting that Toughness retain its stackability. Your point certainly stands in that case.

We've done kind of similar things with these two feats.

In our game, Dodge lets you count your Dex as two higher for the purposes of AC only, and Toughness lets you treat your Con as two higher for HP only. So far it's worked.

never met agile riposte but my rogue in the other campaign that our group is playing is looking vaguely at the agile tactical combat feat from complete warrior cant remember the name of it, if i ever make the pre reqs I guess we'll have to sort it out then.

Hadnt really thought about whether I'd let people take multiple toughnesses at 1/level, we have no psions and I cant think of any other particularly abusable things that can be done with an extra 7 hit points.

If you don't have psions, to abuse the same option you have to go with the less-optimal solution of being a wizard actually possessing the character with the Improved Toughness feats (instead of just riding in his head). Its still worth it to the wizard to gain all those HP (the guy with all the Imp Toughness feats might not be too happy though, so it could be better if he was a cohort).
