Improved Whirlwind Attack prereqs

First Post
I seem to remember seeing a feat called Improved Whirlwind Attack in the Complete Warrior. It made Whirlwind Attack and standard action instead of a full round action.

Is it there? What are the prereqs? And what is your favorite color?

Well...not so much that last part...

That feat is not in the Complete Warrior, I even checked the Epic feats section.

I think it was originally in the Epic Level Handbook, but I don't have that book so I can't be sure.

Sorry.

I'm slow to getting the complete books, but if I remember right in 3.0 it was a prestige class benefit of like the master samurai or kensai/weapon master. In 3.5 it could be the same thing.

The feat is listed in the SRD:

http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/v35/EpicFeats.rtf

IMPROVED WHIRLWIND ATTACK [EPIC]

Prerequisites: Int 13, Dex 23, Dodge, Combat Expertise, Mobility, Spring Attack, Whirlwind Attack.

Benefit: As a standard action, the character can make one melee attack for every five points of his or her base attack bonus (including epic attack bonus, round fractions down).

The character cannot attack any one opponent more than once as part of this action. These attacks (as well as all other attacks made until the start of the character’s next turn) suffer a –4 penalty.

When using the Improved Whirlwind feat, the character also forfeits any bonus or extra attacks granted by other spells or abilities (such as Cleave or the haste spell).

Since these attacks are made as part of a standard action the character can’t make a 5-foot step between any two of the attacks.

Normal: Without this feat, using the Whirlwind Attack feat requires a full attack action, and the character can take a 5-foot step between any two of the attacks.

wow, that sucks. How unepic are the epic feats. Remove the dex 23 req, require a bab of 8 and your good to go as a regular feat. Its like many shot but for melee, but they made it epic.
