D&D 5E (2014) in search of a holiday adventure

I don't know too much about Krampus but they are releasing a movie on it. It is set in modern day but could easily be set some other time.
I saw that. Couldn't really tell what it was about though.

I happen to have a copy of the 4e adventure, Cairn of the Winter King. It's not Christmas-themed but is at least seasonal. Am reading through it to see whether it would be worth running. Otherwise, I might go with something like this: http://www.penny-arcade.com/news/post/2011/12/30/christmas-eve-dd

Well, seeing how adventures take like a year for me, a season-themed adventure might not work very well. Better just add a christmas quest into your adventure. I'd probably just make something up. Alternatively, just stick with your adventure but make it snow and describe how the town people build a christmas tree and stuff.

Rya.Reisender: I run an episodic campaign, so theoretically it shouldn't be difficult to slot in a one-shot Christmas-themed adventure. It's just a matter of figuring out what. I'm warming up to the idea of the Christmas Carol-esque adventure, the link to which I posted above. Obviously I'd have to tone it down a bit, as a lich is a bit too powerful for a bunch of 5th level PCs, but I can use the general framework, I think.

Also, I might have the PCs' patron give them quirky little magic items as gifts.

Building off Rya's mention of trees and making something up-- a coworker was rambling yesterday about Christmas trees being decorated to ward off evil spirits and whatnot. True or no, it's a good jumping point for an idea: a village where they celebrate a holiday festival/ritual in order to appease a group of winter fae, who would otherwise make the villagers' winter much, much worse.

userZynx_name: Yeah, I've looked at that one. It's a possibility.
Wednesday Boy: Thanks for the link. I'll have a look.

UnlimitedPowers: I'm actually kind of liking the idea of evil fey. Maybe the PCs end up having to chase them back into the Feywild. But if decorating trees is meant to ward them away, how would I go about using them? Would the PCs come across a village that hasn't decorated any trees for some reason? Care to help me flesh the idea out a bit more?

EDIT: I wonder if I could make use of the Prince of Frost. I'm just reading the article about him from Dragon 374. It says he hates selfless do-gooding heroes - which is exactly what the PCs in my campaign are. Perhaps the premise could be that they've come to his attention and he wants to ruin their happiness. He sends forth his powers from the Feywild to make their base town suffer a miserable and cold winter in hopes of sucking the joy out of the midwinter celebrations. The PCs must venture into the Feywild to put a stop to the Prince's machinations.

Maybe I should write one up like I did for Halloween. I'm really pressed for time of late though. I'll give it a shot.
