Wow. Those Dragoneye minis just keeping looking better...and I'm getting more and more interested in Unearted Arcana. Here's the money quote:
"So many different things, from environmental racial variants, bloodline abilities, variant monk fighting styles, character traits and flaws, and spontaneous divine spellcasters, to weapon group feats (a definite blast from the past), power spell components, legendary weapons, a spellpoint casting system, character backgrounds, combat rules with facing, and more."

I also hadn't really been interested in those new DM screens, but seeing the art on them now. Just...wow. That's amazing.

Oooh...is that a Pit Fiend/Balor I see from the Archfiends set...??

I'm also quite diggin' the new Unearthed Arcana (but couldn't they have chosen a different name though...) and I'm glad there is at least some new ideas for low magic settings (like I'm in the middle of building). Reserve Points seems like an interesting idea, I'll certainly give it (or something like it) consideration for my game where I want to reduce the dependency on magical healing.

yeah, the reserve points sounds like a great idea for a low-magic or even a "cinematic" style campaign.

Unearthed Arcana is a great name for the book, because it hearkens back to the 1e book of alternate rules...

My concern was more about the potential confusion in the marketplace with Monte's AU, particulary the retailers. People here have confused the two names...

Why shouldn't have Monte called his book something different?

In all honesty, he should have... but he did get WotC's permission beforehand to use the name "Arcana Unearthed". If WotC knew at the time they were going to put out a similar named book they should have never given Monte permission in the first place or just opted for a different title. Again, it's just a bad idea to have two such high profile books with similar names.
