Incantatrix weirdness

I'm playing a Sorcerer and am thinking of picking up the Incantatrix class from the Magic of Faerun. It looks good, except that it says I become an Abjuration specialist, even though I am a Sorcerer. WTH? How is that supposed to work? There is nowhere that it explains what benefits a Sorcerer gets from specializing in a school!

Do I:

1) get an extra spell of each level that can only be used for Abjuration spells I have?

2) get an extra spell/day and spell known of abjuration for each level?

3) get an extra spell/day and can prepare abjuration spells in those extra spell slots?

4) something else I haven't thought of?

Yep.

The Sorceror is treated as if she had suddenly become a wizard abjuration specialist (transmutation not available as a prohibited school).

Well, IMC, I allow Sorcerors (and BArds) to specialise. Instead of CASTING an additional spell of each level they have access to, per day ... they know an extra spell of each level, fom their specialty school.

Talk to your DM, maybe s/he will agree that such an arrangement sounds workable.
