That's much better. Furthermore the cap prevents you to have more caster levels than you would have in the best case (that is, when single class).

Eh. Improved Spellcasting just means you get a bonus to spell effects (6d6 instead of 5d6 fireballs) and caster level checks. You don't get extra spells per day or (the biggie) higher level spells. If anything, I'd say it's weak.

Yes, that's correct. It's useful if you take only one level in another class (say, rogue for skill points). For example, EK or Arcane Trickster may find it worthwhile, since they have to multiclass anyway.

The feat doesn't help with spells per day or higher level spells, however.
