Increasing teleport's carrying capacity.

Is there a magic item that can increase the number of targets of teleport. Right now, we are thinking about bags of holding and portable hole tricks, but it seems like there must be a more elegant solution, like an item that just increases the number of targets by one or two, or just increases the effective caster level for this one spell.

The problem is that we have a 6 membered party and a Wujen of only 11th level.

A wand of Mass Reduce Person would come in handy. Instead of a medium creature you get 2 small ones.

There's the Wayfarer's Guide PrC that doubles the transport-capacity of Teleport.

There's also at least one Reserve feat in Complete Mage that gives a caster-level boost for [Teleportation] spells.

Actually, this came up once during Gencon RPGA tournament where we needed to dim door past several iron golems. By the time we had argued as to how we were to pass the whole group, we were surprised by the vorpal-sword-wielding-naked-cleric-with-the-disintegration-touch. With several dead party members it was a breeze to take some ears and banf over. So I am aware.

As to the reduce person trick, I wasn't aware this would work. I just assumed you had to be tiny or large for it to make a difference. I'll have to look at the rules now...

Reduce person won't help. There is only an upcharge for larger creatures. There is no discount for smaller creatures.

You may also bring one additional willing Medium or smaller creature (carrying gear or objects up to its maximum load) or its equivalent (see below) per three caster levels. A Large creature counts as two Medium creatures, a Huge creature counts as two Large creatures, and so forth.

Other than the extradimensional space trick, I know of no other way 'round it.

Perhaps he could purchase a teleport scroll scribed by a higher level caster?
 


There is a teamwork benefit in Forge of War (I think) that decreases your party size by one with respect to teleportation spells and mass spells.

Boots of Big Stepping: 6000 gp, +2 caster level for teleportation spells, and 3/day teleport 60' as standard action. (MIC 76-77)
