That certainly looked like the warehouse they put the ark in...

Of course a warehouse is a warehouse.
Bet they show the 'crate' in the movie as an easter egg. Bet they show the 'crate' in the movie as an easter egg. :D
I'm hoping Indy winds up having send the ark back to God with high explosives being the "Return to sender" stamp. That thing is just a little too dangerous to just be mothballed.

Hmm, it be awesome if the events if this takes place at Warehouse 23 are hinted at, with the upcoming TV series Warehouse 13. Lol, maybe Warehouse 23 blows up and everything is moved to Warehouse 13 :P

Yeah I can just see the fallout off that one, destroy huge numbers of powerful ancient relics of magic and religion. Naw, couldn't possibly hurt. Of course being the cold war maybe all those "nuclear tests" in the southwest were really their way of covering things up in the context of the movie? Be an interesting premise to see the government go into overdrive to avoid revealing all those things they'd thought were safely locked away.

I'm still not sold on the Russians as the baddies though. Even in a Cold War era, they're not quite as cool (in the Bwahaha! Eeevil! sense) as the Nazis. Plus, the Nazi leaders were known to have an interest in the occult and such things, which to my knowledge the Russians did not, And seeing as this is taking place in Central and/or South America (presumably) it would have been easy to work the Nazis in (seeing as many of them fled to South America at the end of the war). Maybe they'll still be involved, though.

In any event- looking forward to this.

I'm afraid I didn't like it at all. Ford looks like an old geezer dressed up as Indiana Jones. It had been cooler if Indy wore his dad's tweed clothes through out this adventure, methinks.

This would have been a lot better 10 years ago. I'm not sure I can get past Indy being over 60. He just looks old. Slow and ponderous. I hope something can be done about it in post.

I think you're missing part of the point of the original movie. God apparently had decided that simply having it buried under tons of sand, in a lost city, with the only clue to it's location being a double sided head piece for a staff, wasn't providing sufficient protection against it being found.

So he arranged for it to fall into the possession of the US government. Since apparently that IS sufficient protection against it ever being found again.
