Restless Entropy Games
Villager
Hello, all. I created a cross-promotion hub for TTRPG creators who believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. The goal is to build a trusted circle of like-minded folks who actively support and promote each other’s campaigns. Whether you're launching your first Kickstarter or your tenth, sharing updates, linking prelaunch pages, or trading mentions, this group is about helping each other succeed. Let's grow together!
The group is on Facebook at the moment and it is brand new. Here's the link: Kickstarter TTRPG Cross Promotion | Facebook
Currently, it is Kickstarter focused, so if you are on another crowdfunding platform, your milage may vary.
The two main ways we're going to promote each other:
1. Cross Promo Trains - A Cross Promo Train starts with a post linked to a live Kickstarter campaign. It will have "Cross Promo Train" as part of the post. The concept is simple: The first person that comments on the post will include a short blurb and link to the campaign in their next Update or Newsletter. The commenter should include a link to their campaign in their comment. Then, someone else replies to that initial comment, including their campaign link. This new person then provides a short blurb and link to the campaign of the commenter. And the process continues.
2. Prelaunch Signups - When approved, a post will be created that features a prelaunch page, whether hosted by Kickstarter or elsewhere. Everyone in the group is encouraged to hit that "notify" button. This will increase the follower count. All things being equal, people are more likely to click "notify" if there are already a decent amount of followers. This means a campaign with 600 followers is more likely to get another follower versus the same campaign with only 10 followers. It's the reinforcement of social proof. When you are part of a Prelaunch Signup, keep in mind that your follower count will be inflated due to this practice. We're here to help get you noticed, but we might not actually be interested in your project and are not required to back it at any level.
If you have any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
I hope you join and I can't wait to hear about your campaign!
(Apologies if this isn't the correct category to post in; I wasn't really sure where it fit.)
