Info on "Inn Fighting," the (in-game) dice game?

If I understand correctly, the Inn Fighting dice game was crafted so it can be played in-game as well as by itself without PCs. A couple of questions:
1. How successfully do in-game gambling scenarios play out for your group?
2. Any details on the mechanics of Inn Fighting available? (I'm guessing its a simple variant on some other ages-old game, ala Dragon Yawtzee.)

WOTC's August 2007 preview and September 2007 preview have pictures of some of the game cards, including the "Game Summary" card. That should provide a little insight.

Despite the early advertising, this doesn't look like a game that characters play. It sounds more like a dice (and card) game that players can import their roleplaying characters into.

I've played it, and it's fun. But unlike Three-Dragon Ante, I don't think this is a game that characters play. Rather, it's a standalone D&D-based dice game that doesn't really have anything to do with your RPG campaign.
