Info on Myrkul

You'd probably need to go to older editions for that. He was killed off during the Time of Troubles, several years back (both in real time and campaign time). I don't think WOTC bothered generating 3E stats for dead characters.

That's what I was thinking. I was considering purchasing the necessary ESD, but I don't know which one(s) I need. Is he detailed in Faiths and Avatars and/or Powers and Pantheons?

i don't know about either of those two books...

the 1e FR box set only has about 2 paragraphs of material, the 2e FR Adventures has just about a page worth of information.

i know that Myrkul is not included in the 2e Prayers from the Faithful

what kind of info are you looking for? (anything specific, or everything possible? :D )

They killed off Myrkul along with Bane and some others in the conversion to 2E (though now Bane's resurrected). Your best bet is 1E material -- but of the few products I'm aware of, only the grey box set is useful (and there ain't much there)

a little bit more info....

there's a write-up of Myrkul (specifically his avatar and attitudes during the Time of Troubles) in the mod Tantras. he's not in Shadowdale, and i'm not sure about the Waterdeep mod (i can't seem to find it)

he's not in the 2e Powers and Pantheons, but according to an index in that book, is in the 2e Faiths and Avatars

and in case you're interested, Myrkul didn't exist in the Arcane Age

kreynolds:

The most complete write-up in existence on Myrkul is found in the 2e supplement Faiths and Avatars, which is available as an ESD. There are no other really good ones of which I can think.

I'm assuming the stuff from F&A is off-limits to post? I can put it up otherwise if it's protected by fair use...

Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale had some brief info (in IWD, which plays 1270 or something, he's still active), and in the Avatar Trilogy of novells, he appears in person.

Out of curiousity: why do you need that information?

He is very much detailed in that book. What a great book. It gives his stats, dogma, specialty priests, etc, AND the story on how he, Bane, and Bhaal gained there divine powers from Jergal.

Also sources, although no crunch stuff all fluff, are the Time of Trouble books. Shadowdale, Tantras and Waterdeep. These books are actually a pretty decent read. IIRC, Myrkul is mostly in the 3rd book.

You might also look into his artifact, I believe it is the crown of horns or maybe the crown of myrkul I cannot remember. HWen Myrkul died in Waterdeep his divine essence creted this powerful crown that is still around in the Current day Realms.

I'll look it up if you want more info.

Hope that helps.
