Inland Empire: The Lynchiest David Lynch film that ever Lynched a Lynch.

"Inland Empire" was David Lynch at his awesome best! It involves time travel (at least!) so fits in the scifi/fantasy section, though there is way more to it than that.

Anyone else see it yet?

Hadn't seen it, but I think there hasn't been anything good on TV since Twin Peaks went off the air. There are parts of "Fire Walk with Me" that are burned in my memory.

Before TP hit the air, anytime I saw a David Lynch movie (Dune, Eraserhead, Blue Velvet) I got sick to my stomach from the anticipation within 15 minutes of the start.

Besides Mulholland Drive (which I think was incredible), I regret having not watched much of David Lynch's work. Except Dune, which I frankly thought sucked royally, but I know it wasn't his fault for the most part.

Perhaps I'll watch this in the future when I have the chance. :)

Have you unlocked the secret of Mulholland Drive?

My theory:
Most of the movie is the guilt-dream of the woman who is the protagonist in the last half hour, who hired the killer to kill her lesbian lover. Then the dream shows the idealized love relationship that she thinks should have happened, but this proves to be unstable. Oh, and the dance bit in the opening credits is also part of "reality" not the guilt-dream.
Of course, I could be wrong.

As for IE, damned if I can figure that one out.
