[Inner Circle] Races of Violet Dawn Released

Races of Violet Dawn released at midnight this morning. You can purchase it now for $2.50 from RPGNow. The PDF contains a new race, a racial paragon path, 8 racial feats, and 5 new weapons. As with our other products its presented in full color and a black and white version for easy printing.

The next release in this product line will focus on the ngakoi. Here's a little info on this small race:

Ngakoi are a tribal people who walk between the absolutes of the world. They live in harmony with lands other races cannot or will not populate, from poisonous swamps to forests full of terrible beasts. Outsiders see them as odd at best and corrupt at worst for their willingness to practice strange magic and truck with weird spirits, but ngakoi have no such prejudices about others. To ngakoi, the universe and its inhabitants are exactly as they should be.

Play a ngakoi if you want…

• to be adaptable and cunning.
• to be knowledgeable in dark and mystic forces.
• to be at home and content in almost any environment, no matter how dangerous.
• to be a member of a race that favors the fighter, devout, and warlock classes.

I'll post the cover for the ngakoi once its all ready to go. The tentative release for the ngakoi is within the next 2 weeks.

The way No Fear is worded, you'll never fail a fear saving throw. It should either have "you must keep the new result, even if it's lower." or just be replaced with "Skarren are immune to effects from powers with the Fear keyword that allow a save".

Also, I can't place it, but it feels like it needs something. I'd probably give them a trait like the Dragonborn's Draconic Heritage, but the feat Skarren Vigor already does that. Of course, I like races with lots of features, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I thought we updated it to you must keep the new result... I'll put that on an errata list and update the PDF in a couple weeks in case anything else comes up.

We actually changed the racial features back to an older set that we were using. I wanted to add something else, but when I looked at it for balance, we thought that would be a bad idea. We actually had in there that they do an extra 2 points of damage while bloodied, but that seemed too much compared to the WotC races.

With the GSL you can't put the logo on the front of the book only the back. The reason I created that 4e logo and have that compatibility text is so that people know what the product is. If I didn't have that on there, this could be a product for any system.
