Innovative In-game Cuisine

In my homebrew world

the Dersert Orcs serve up marmot stew. Although it may be made from prairie dogs, rock chucks or whatever else they can trap or shoot. The PCs have yet to eat it. :p

In a city full of telepaths the PCs were able to buy a tea that kept the mental noise to a minimum. Without it the intruding thoughts can drive a person buggy in short order.

Arbiter, if you haven't read Tolkien's novella "Farmer Giles of Ham," put it at the top of your list. The plot engine is a fantasy world delicacy and what happens when, after years of everyone eating the equivalent of mock turtle soup, an actual turtle shows up. Great fun.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never read any Tolkien, but this sounds interesting.

I have something similar: a very stout liquor brewed from mushrooms, but with an odor and taste of trout. I don't remember the name right now, but I'm sure I will remember it as soon as I've posted.
Or maybe a little later. . . It's called galenog, and I'm pretty sure I just stole it from the Complete Book of Gnomes and Halflings.

Edit: the brews in Dragon 334 are really cool! I particularly like the drowned man stout and the dwarven grave ale.
