Inquest Magazine - Dead after September

I miss magazines like Challenge, Shadis, Scrye and Autoduel Quarterly. So many great projects gone forever. I struggled for 32 issues to publish a print zine in digest format, but it was so expensive to print and mail. I'm glad we still have Dragon and Dungeon, but I really wish there were others.

I'm with you on the difficulty involved, but I'm giving it a shot. Kobold Quarterly is publishing 4 times a year for D&D and OGL gamers, with articles by Ed Greenwood and Nicolas Logue, among others.

It's also available in PDF form as an inexpensive way to reach gamers outside the US. Please subscribe today; print magazines need your support!

I guess that's true. The rumors of Dragon and Dungeon death is exaggerated. Losing print did hurt, though.

QFT.

In somewhat related news Disney announced it is ending the 17 year run of Disney Adventures. This was a mag had a million circulation, that was supported mostly by subscriptions, reached a high advertising value tween audience, and had the backing of a massive media company.

Admittedly I was never interested in Inquest. I'm not a CCG fan. However I miss my Dragon and Dungeon magazines.

Every day I go to the mailbox and all I expect to find is bills.

At least with print magazines I had something to look forward to every month in the mail.

Well, allow me to toot my own horn and also mention our magazine, Dragon Roots. It doesn't cover CCGs, mainly because the writers focus on role-playing games, but we are not opposed to such articles. I agree with Wolfgang, give printed magazines your support.

On another note, I like to throw support out to other magazines as well, so if you want to check out other print magazines, check out Knights of the Dinner Table, The Crusader and Path Finder. Links to all of these, including Kobold Quarterly, are on our web-site at www.dragonroots.net.

If you like the printed format, any of the magazines above are a good choice. Hope that helps.
