Interest in a Detroit Gameday?

shadowlight

First Post
I'm considering organizing a "Detroit" Gameday in January or February. It would most likely be located somewhere between Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Before I start putting things together (and roping Joshua Dyal into helping:D), I'd like to gauge the level of interest.

So, who'd be interested?!

For some reason I couldn't find the earlier threads with the search function. I remember thinking we had a good 30-40 people who replied as interested, at least.

Myself and probably 2 others would be in from Grand Rapids.

Over the course of several threads, there's been huge interest in participating. However, there's been very little ability to organize. Usually because the first poster said something like "Why don't we have one," not "I'm going to organize one," as you have :)

I'd do my best to be there.

I would if it falls into the realm of my Christmas break. Being a college student leaves these matters rather fickle for me. I'd hate to say it, but the realms of December and early January are pretty much the best bet for college students. I can ask around some Game Stores I frequent in the area the next time I visit my sister.

My schedule is a bitch. If it is somewhere around December break, I might be able to attend, but otherwise, full time work and law school suck away my life.

I don't know if the end of December is enough time to get one organized, but we should probably give it a try! I'm guessing that most students would still be off on January 3rd?

I think this is a good idea in general. My understanding that a Detroit Gameday has always fallen through due to lack of venue.

I'll start asking around at local game stores and see if there would be any interest in hosting a Gameday (it seems like this would be a good business move for a game store owner...)

Any other suggestions for cheap/free gaming locations?

Pandemonium games in Garden City offers gaming space. It's where a lot of local area Living Greyhawk events are held.

I'm interested, but it depends on scheduling.

Even if you aren't able to rally a bunch of people again for some reason, don't feel like it's not worth it. On the first Boston gameday at Piratecat's there was only about 8 of us, playing only one game (Feng Shui), and it was a blast.
