Interesting Plot/Story Creation (DMin help)

Jurble - another thing to remember is that each player will react differently. I say this because it is easy to start "anticipating" what the characters will do and plan for it, at which point you'll find they do something else.

You can't plan for every eventuality, don't try, it isn't worth it, trust me on this. However, there is another great resource I am surprised I haven't seen mentioned... other GMs, not just the written advice here, but actually side-saddleing with another more experienced GM and taking notes. If mimicry is the sincerest form a flatery then outright theft is worship. :)
I'm going to GenCon this year to play - I haven't played in 15 years, why play, to see how others run games and steal their ideas, not neccisarily plots, but stylistic stuff, the way they organize, shortcuts they've developed, their resources, etc. If your local hobby shop has a games night, ask the DM to side-saddle. Maybe they'll do something you like and you'll use it. Maybe they'll do something you don't and realize that that particular avenue isn't yours, either way, you come out ahead.

My to coppers, happy gaming
