Hello, community!
Today, I’m excited to share some sketches of the artwork we’re developing for Trotamunda (Trotamunda.ar).
Thanks to our amazing artist Esteban Bratin, we’re making great progress in defining the game’s visual style. Here’s a sneak peek at three playable classes: the Savage, the Guard, and the Healer.
For those who don’t know yet, Trotamunda is a satirical fantasy role-playing game that humorously pokes fun at classic RPGs and dungeon crawlers. It’s set in a rich, whimsical world where humans don’t exist, and anthropomorphic animals take center stage.
The base game focuses on South America, known in our universe as the Young Southern Continent, but I plan to expand the world in the future.
These sketches also feature three of the playable species: a dog, a land turtle, and a green iguana.

I’d like to take this opportunity to ask for your opinion. In my other projects, where I primarily work alone, I haven’t needed to rely on any type of funding. However, for this particular game—whose system I’ve been developing for over five years—I’d like to ensure it’s released with the highest quality possible.
A while ago, I hired an artist to handle the art, but I’ve been considering professionalizing other aspects, such as layout and editorial corrections.
I’m not particularly fond of platforms like Kickstarter or similar crowdfunding methods, so I’ve been thinking of a different approach. My idea is to launch an adventure that introduces my world and themes in an impactful way. I’d make it available for free on DriveThruRPG with a “pay what you want” option, using any profits to enhance the game’s professional quality. If it doesn’t generate enough funding, I’d continue along the original path.
Do you think this would be a good idea?
