I'm surprised there's not a thread on this show yet. I was only half watching it, and I missed the first episode. Anyone care to spoil me?

Still a slow boil...a military diver was found, with mark attacks from a unknown creature. The female doctor, is realizing that she is forgetting about her kids.

Then later, the diver's wife was located, and a attempted discussion by the female reporter, trying to get info was going badly, it was found out, that the diver in question, was overseas, on a mission. As the wife wholeheartly believes.

In hospital, the military diver mysteriously...dies.

The body in the trunk, is gone.

And people who are hurted in the storm, are showing some unusual changes in their manner. Like one woman being treated in the hospital, a comment was by the female doctor, that the treated woman can't swim or something.

The woman came back with her retort...she can now.

Just a basic outline.

And oh, the park ranger, is starting to believe, a little more, and more...that something is up.

But what.

I got the impression from the bits and pieces that I saw that the Doctor woman and the Sherriff guy are both, what's the word?, "possessed" by whatever it is that's invading. I usually like the guy who plays the Sherriff, and I wonder if the actor was picked because of his likeability, just like the doctor may have been picked because of her beauty.

It's interesting though, because it seems as though these beings take over one's personality relatively slowly, or at least not all-at-once. So why wouldn't the people affected begin to tell people, before their wills were totally absorbed?

It looks like things are beginning to divide up into "teams" the "good guys" being led by the park ranger and his crew, and the "bad guys" being led by the Sherrif and the doctor. Am I misreading things, or is this what others are getting as well?

Honesty, there might be third party involved. But your thesis may have some foundation.

You're missing something important, though--the finding of the wedding ring in the trunk of the car where the skeleton went missing, and the fact that the doctor gal lost hers. That's highly suggestive that the Doctor gal isn't really the Doctor gal at all.

Ah yes...thank you, still coming down from the high, on seeing Serenity... ;)

So far, there have been three people on the show who ended up (supposedly) spending several hours in the swamp and were later found naked, but without a scratch on them: the doctor, the priest and Larkin's boss. (the "I can't swim" woman)

They're all acting weird - the priest and the sheriff have been hovering over the injured Air Force guy (making it seem likely they had something to do with his death/disappearance), and Larkin's boss squashed the story about the strange events surrounding the Air Force guy - and Larkin's conversation with her made it clear she's acting comepletely out of character there. And there have been many small scenes suggesting that some sort of bond exists between them, or that they're communicating in some way other than speaking. (or they're just having lots of quiet introspective "moments" together, and then smiling creepily about it)

That is bothering me a lot.
