Invisibility...when does it end?

If summoning a balor into the midst of a group of drow won't break invisibility (the spell specifically says you can summon monsters, remember)... I would say that throwing a light pellet wouldn't either. Later in the spell, it says "causing harm indirectly is not an attack."

The result of throwing a light bomb affects the drow, certainly, but it's not a specific attack on the drow. And this way, we don't have different results if the character throws a light pellet at creatures without light sensitivity.

The rogue wouldn't become visble, therefore, by throwing the daylight pellet. But they'd certainly know SOMEONE was nearby messing with them!

It doesn't matter whether you use the term "attack action" or not - or "attack spell" for that matter, I was just humoring blindrage on that - the words you use have no effect on whether a given act breaks invisibility in the RAW. What matters is intent. You can use "attack actions" to "attack" inanimate objects - or people you don't think of as foes - and it would NOT break invisibility in the RAW.

Or the DM can rule that the daylight pellet is not causing harm, just inconveniencing the drow for a round. While the fireball is actually doing damage (ie harm) to the drow. This would also cover summoning, because the creature attacking is doing the harm not the summoner.

As you say, the fireball does the damage, not the caster. It's no more or less indirect than in the case of a summoning spell IMO. Only an unarmed attack would be actual damage _by_ the attacker. The spell makes no cents, never did.

So what about a delayed blast fireball - does the caster become visible when it explodes, or when he casts it?
