Invisible Man d20?

First Post
I was thinking about the SciFi Channel's Invisible Man as a d20 campaign. Given my philosophy of adding as few rules as possible, I was thinking that Quicksilvering something (or yourself) would be a Standard action, and I'd have uses and times take points -- with badness happening when you got low on Sanity Points or something like that. I'd also make Quicksilver Control a new skill that stole as much as possible from the Control Shape skill that lycanthropes get to take.

More on that when I think of it, though -- what I'm mostly thinking about are the characters, who I really remember liking. It's tough, though, trying to figure out what classes people should be?

Claire the Keeper is an obvious Smart Hero, as is Eberts. Eberts might have some levels in Dedicated as well, as well as a Bureaucrat Advanced Class that makes my skin crawl just to think about it. The boss, whose name I forget offhand, looks like a Charismatic/Dedicated Hero.

Fawkes and Hobbes, though. They're tough to figure out. Neither one of them strikes me as the Smart Hero type.

I was thinking that Fawkes could be something like:

(Incidently, I like to put TV people at levels 10-14 for the most part, since they're supposed to be really really good, but there are always people better.)

Darien Fawkes:

Fast 6
Charismatic 3
Infiltrator 3

Give him the Criminal Occupation with Disable Device and Sleight of Hand as permanent class skills and he's pretty much good to go.

Bobby Hobbes:

Strong 3
Tough 2
Soldier 4
Martial Artist 3

Hobbes is a good martial artist and a tough guy in a fight. I'd give him a high Intelligence score, given the amount of tactics and military knowledge he's got, but a low Wisdom score, given his constant borderline insanity.

Thoughts?

I loved this show. The reason I loved it was because of the interaction between Fawkes and Hobbs...something that I don't see translating to the RPG.

However, I don't see that meaning that a campaign based on the premise or "world" of IM wouldn't work.

I don't think I would do a skill realting to Quick Silver...A Feat (or maybe two or three if you really wanted to stretch) would cover it. After all, what is there to truly govern over skill use and skill point spending.

If anything I think I would make a Advanced Class: Quicksilver Agent. Where levels would improve the use and intrinsic essence of quicksilver.

The QS Madness would be a hard thing to govern, especially if you had a *not so good RP'er*...one the other hand, QSM could be one of those GREAT RP moments with the right player.

As for levels. I don't know about your I really don't see them that high...10th level max...Especially when you think about the Woman Agent they brought in later (Her name escapes me at the moment) she was a "professional"...especially compared to Fawkes and Hobbs.

Fawkes...hmmm...how about...
Smart 1, Fast 3, Charismatic 1, Tough 1, Infiltrator 4
The reason why I chose this:
SMART: His family is full of smarts, his brother developed QS after all, and he is very clever at a lot of things he does, he KNOWS everything there is about security and he is ALWAYS quoting people and philosophies.
FAST: This is a no brainer.
CHARISMATIC: He has charmed and fast-talked his way out of more then one situation, but he's also failed farily often...making him skilled but not GREAT at it.
TOUGH: This one you may question, but this guy takes serious damage, not to mention being the only surviving QS person, if I am not mistaken. He has a big mouth and uses it, as a result takes a few hits. He also was a prisoner...thus getting the Tough class while in the big house, maybe.
INFILTRATOR: This, again, is a no brainer.

well, I got to get running...I will post some more ideas later...
