(IR) The Imaginary IR

The Destruction of Artonsomay

Artonsomay, as my 3rd IR people might remember, is a city within the Empire of Iuz.
It is a mixture of humanoid and human, once a bandit kingdom city but now bowing to Iuz.
The people of this city are peaceful, relatively speaking (all the warrior types were drafted by Iuz a while back) and there are many women and children.

Up on the ridge to one side of the walled city, appears the Elven Host.

(to the sounds of The Mob Rules) (Call the city and ... tell the people that ... something's coming apart! ...)

- The Elven Commander, beautiful in her shining elven mail, holding up her blue gleaming sword: 'TO THE DEATH OF HUMANOIDS!'
- The elves charge. Those on pegasi fly over the walls, shooting arrows and lightning bolts at everyone and everything.
- The elves crash the gates (no defenders were there, as Artonsomay was peaceful) and start running down and butchering the population.
- Elven archers fire at the fleeing humanoids. A guard watches them fall in heaps, then turns to run. An elven girl appears behind him, and shoots him in the back, over and over, before he can even fall.
- Elven Fireballs explode, blasting out the sides of buildings. Other elves open fire with Lightning Bolts through the gaps at the huddled civilians inside.
- Elves stand, throwing Walls of Fire in every direction, to begin firestorms.

In the center of the city, the Cathedral of Iuz still stands amidst the flames.

The humanoids inside: 'They're killing everyone. We must escape!' 'The city is burning.' 'Elder, we must arm ourselves. We must fight!' ...

(Heh. LOL. If you can summon Forrester the Defender, more power to you.)

The elven assault continues. When it is finished, there won't be anyone left alive in Artonsomay.
Even now, the elves are bringing up the battering ram to force open the gates of the Cathedral of Iuz.

And the elves win.
They destroy Artonsomay, with all it's non-combatant humanoids and humans, and Forrester does not save them.

Is there no justice left in the world?!

Mercanes reveal the Empire of Lynn is really a futuristic version of Japan sent back through time and undead-ified, and then all of a sudden a series of twelve, 3 ep PL mechas activate, each themed after some animal of the Zodiac (albeit the Chinese version), the only chance for survival lies in the hands of....

Morwel. Who removes her elf-suit revealing it is really Demogoron. The people of Miranda decide to go with the flow and in a horde of chaotic evil elvendom, faeries, titans ,arctic and aquatic lifeforms set out to destroy anything nearby. (And since Lynn is nearby ....)

Tired of the insane rule of the God-King of Nyrond and his Modron lackeys, the people rise up in rebellion burning tax halls, courthouses and employment offices.

King Sethannon Rhynnon, King of Greater Nyrond and protector of the Eastern Forests is overthrown by an elite cadre of druids and talking animals.

A new nation is formed, the Nyrond free states. The people gather together in communes where they practice organic farming, free-love, and folk singing.

The Ice-Elves are of course permitted to go their own way, but are welcome to come by at any time and party just so long as they bring some of that killer elven pipe-weed they are famous for.

The NFS declares that they love everyone and just want to live in peace with their neighbors, party, learn more about chemistry.

The Elves of Aliador have, by now, finished the destruction of Doraaka, capital of the Empire of Iuz.
Their forces have secured the entire border region between their country and the Empire of Iuz.
But Iuz and his forces are not actively resisting. Why aren't they putting up a fight?
Something is very, very wrong here.

The Tempest has turned to the worship of Yolande, Halfling Goddess of Peace.
Lynn has emerged as a nation of superscience.
Miranda, Marchwards, and Elvanian Forest are actually run by Demogorgon, Prince of Demons.
Gigantea and Hyperboria are actually run by evil peoples and evil elves.
And Nyrond has turned into the Enclaves of Organic Farming and Free Love.

Worst of all, Saint Nick and his Elves have taken power in Polaria.

It must be Vecna.
Only the coming of Vecna, could account for this.
Only Vecna, would be so utterly cruel, utterly baneful, utterly darkly humorous, as to create such havoc.

The Elves of Aliador and the Star Elves (formerly Good Drow) retreat, teleporting back to Varna, capital of Aliador, which they further fortify with more Walls of Force and other magical defenses.
The people of the Theocracy of the Pale they evacuate from Wintershiven and the other major Theocracy cities, to Varna.
Likewise, Ratik and the Lendores are evacuated, their people concentrating their forces in the safety of Varna.

TO KALANYR

The Elves of Miranda send a message to Demogorgon and his lackeys as follows:

'Release our children, and send them back to Aliador safe and whole.'

For, although the greater part of the children of Aliador are safe within Xaels' Elven Demiplane, a fair number were sent to Miranda, Gigantea, and Hyperboria. The horrified Elves of Aliador can only hope they don't lose those children, and then have to do something REAL BAD to Demogorgon and lackeys as a result.

Veluna now acknowledges the overlordship of Aliador, becoming a part of Greater Aliador.
Then King Arden, paladin 32nd, of Keoland announces the entire League of Athyr will acknowledge the overlordship of Aliador, and the League will become a part of Greater Aliador.
Magic has it's uses ...

Celene and the Yeomanry go along immediately.
Veluna, the Lorridges, and the Lortmils go along with the annexation, some more eagerly, some grudgingly.
The northern half of Keoland, including Niola Dra, grudgingly goes along, with many a threat of revolt and several assassination attempts against the King.
However, the southern half of Keoland refuses to go along, Gran March, Sterich, and Geoff refuse to go along, and Bissel refuses to go along. The southern Keolandish city of Gradsul even goes so far as to invite the Scarlet Brotherhood in, to protect them from the Mad King Arden!
Furyondy declares itself out of the League of Athyr, then finds itself isolated.

Of course, King Arden isn't going to let this stand. The League must unite, under the rule of Aliador!

Veluna invades Furyondy to force it back into the League.
Keoland invades Gran March, Bissel, Geoff, and Sterich.
Keoland and forces from the Lortmils invade southern Keoland.

The civil war in the League of Athyr is on.

Miranda happily returns the children of Aliador. I hope you don't mind much that they are possessed by demons and Old Ones or turned into various kinds of undead. But we have gathered every piece of them up to send them back.

I'm afraid that Aliador does have a problem with that.

The Lady of Aliador, with 1 Epic Army, 25 Elite Armies, and 125 Regular Armies, teleport to Miranda.
An all out attack on Miranda commences.

Aliador calls for aid from Lynn, under attack from Miranda itself, and from the Baklunish Empire, Highfolk, and other good nations.

Good luck with the attack, everyone in Miranda is currently destroying Lynn. I hope the empty forest puts up a good fight.
