Quick question about scheduling - I'm going to be on vacation with limited to no email access from July 31 - Aug 7 and then I'm going to GenCon from Aug 17 - 21. Even though it will pain me to do so, if this will cause a problem, I will understandably bow out and let someone else play.

I think I'm going to bow out of this... I have lots of travels going up also and I'm not to interested in the group background as I’ve learned the hard way not to tie my character’s background to others.

Unfortunately it looks like I too need to step away from this game. With classes starting the 15th and only having a few returning students I am going to be swamped. So rather than have to possibly drop later I'll get out of the way for someone else.

That's not a problem at all, GlassJaw, as I will also be out of town (and away from my computer) at the end of August.

We'll just play this by ear and see where it goes.

Just out of curiosity, was it people dropping out that turned you against the group background?

People disappearing, people deciding that what was agreed they didn't like after all... (Its more of the later than the former. People disappear. It’s a sad fact of PbP that they do.)

Tying one’s character to another is very much a show of trust. There are a few in this game I could do it with, some that I could not, and most… Well I simply do not know.

I'm thinking about some kind of gobber character, maybe a bodger or rogue, just because those muckers are so darn cool.

As of today, I can only use the info that is on the internet to gen up a character.

Are their any places I can look or that someone can send me that describes some of the more IK oriented characters? Pics are nice, but I can not generate a character from that.

Sorry, Ranger Rick, as far as I know there are no online places that give you character creation information.
I guess your options are either to create a standard D&D character, or else to ask a lot of questions. Are you familiar with the setting?
