[iron kingdoms] languages from lock & load

Legend
just got my copy of the iron kingdoms character primer today & i was a bit confused by the languages table on p. 58. certain languages have dialects with a parenthetical difficulty rating yet there is no explanation of how this difficulty works in terms of game mechanics. since the information is noted as being revised from one of the witchfire adventures [legion of lost souls], i wonder if there is more information in that adventure about how the dialects work. anybody have LoLS and/or know what i'm talking about? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks AT, but i think the information is actually in the adventure legion of lost souls. that is, L&L claims to be revising information presented in that adventure [which i don't have] and i think they've left out how the mechanic works.

If I was at home, I could explicitly tell you the now-outdated rules from the module.

From memory, it works like this:

Each language dialect has a difficulty rating that required a skill/Int check [can't remember which] in order to understand or speak the dialect.

After spending time in an area where the dialect is spoken, the DC modifier is reduced [one week spent in the area, +3 becomes +2, etc. etc.]

PP never really fully fleshed out the rules, and they will most likely be completely revised in the Campaign Guide.
